Open a photograph in the Dermi Atlas Image Viewer, set the rendering quality, and edit, rotate, download, or delete it from the Image Properties drawer.
Every photograph in the Image Pool has two views. The Image Viewer shows the photograph at full size for examination and annotation. The Image Properties drawer holds its details and the actions that change the image itself: rotating, downloading, and deleting.
Selecting a photograph on its image card in the Image Pool or in an entry workspace opens it in the Image Viewer; the card's tooltip reads View Image. Selecting the preview in the Image Properties drawer opens the viewer as well. The viewer needs an active Atlas license; without one, selecting a photograph shows a License expired notification.
The viewer header carries the Image Viewer tab, the sync status pill, the Rendering Settings control, and the close control. The pill reports saves and shows which colleagues have the photograph open; see Real-Time Synchronization Across Devices.
When the photograph belongs to a zone, the header also carries a date switcher for that body area and an image list of the zone's other photographs. Both are covered in Organizing Images with Zones.
The mode selector at the start of the toolbar sets what a touch or drag does:
Undo and Redo reverse and repeat the steps taken while the viewer is open.
The zoom control at the end of the toolbar shows the zoom level and offers preset levels and Fit to View. Scrolling, pinching on a touch screen, and double-tapping also zoom, and Reset Canvas Pan & Zoom returns to the fitted view.
The Rendering Settings control in the header balances display sharpness against responsiveness, which matters most on slower computers and tablets. It shows a preview and three presets:
The individual settings below the presets fine-tune the rendering, and a combination that matches no preset is shown as Custom. The same Rendering Settings control appears in comparisons and on the Full Body Photography page, and one choice applies everywhere for the signed-in account. By default Atlas remembers the last choice. On the Preferences page, the Image Rendering Settings card offers Re-initialize Defaults, with Configure Settings for the settings every canvas starts from.
View Image Details on an image card or list row opens the Image Properties drawer. From top to bottom it holds:
Editing the caption, tags, and date, and rotating, need an active Atlas license.

The effective date starts as the date the photo was taken, when the file records it, and as the upload time otherwise. The date and time picker under Effective Date changes it, and the image then moves to the matching date group in the pool.
Rotate turns the image 90 degrees clockwise each time it is selected, and its annotations turn with it. Rotating resets the saved arrangement and alignment of every comparison that contains the image, so Auto Align is run again there.
Only Clinician accounts can download an image. Download saves the photograph to the device under its original file name. For a photograph that carries annotations, it first opens the Download Image drawer, with a preview and two choices:
-annotated added to the file name. The copy is saved as PNG when the original is PNG and as JPEG otherwise, and a very large photograph is reduced to about 16 megapixels. When the practice records comprehensive activity (the default audit logging level), each download is recorded in the activity log.
Only Clinician accounts can delete an image. Delete Image asks for a confirmation phrase: DELETE IMAGE, or PERMANENTLY DELETE IMAGE when the practice deletes records permanently. An image used in any entry workspace cannot be deleted; Atlas reports that the image is in use in other entries, and it is removed from those workspaces first. Associated Entry Usage lists them. When the image belongs to a zone, the confirmation notes that it also leaves the zone.
Unless deletion is permanent, a deleted image can be restored; see Recovering Deleted Records. The complete list of what each account type can do is in Account Types and Permissions.
