Restore a deleted patient from Deleted Records, or a deleted entry, image, zone, full body session, or lesion from the patient's Deleted Items drawer in Dermi Atlas.
A deleted record in Dermi Atlas stays recoverable until the practice's retention period ends. A deleted patient is restored from the Deleted Records page, and an entry, image, zone, full body session, or lesion deleted on its own is restored from the patient's Deleted Items drawer. Only Clinician accounts can recover deleted records, and recovery requires an active license.
Records are deleted with Delete Patient, Delete Entry, Delete Image, Dissolve Zone, Delete Session, and Delete Lesion. Whether they can be recovered depends on the deletion policy the practice sets in Dermi Atlas Manager:
When the retention period of a deleted record ends, the record and its photographs are removed automatically. The policies and the retention period are described in Configuring Data Retention for Deleted Records. In the Atlas Cloud Demo, deletion is permanent, so there is nothing to recover.
Each card shows the patient's unique ID and name, the image and entry counts, the deletion date, and the time left, such as "10y 1mo remaining" or "Expiring soon".

The patient returns with the entries, images, zones, lesions, and full body sessions deleted together with it. Anything deleted on its own before the patient was deleted stays deleted, and is restored afterwards from the patient's Deleted Items drawer.
Under the Standard policy, a patient's earlier activity log is removed when the patient is deleted, so the Patient Activity Logs of a recovered patient begin with the deletion. Under the Recoverable policy the full log returns with the patient.
If another patient has since been created with the same unique ID, recovery is refused with "Another active patient already uses the same unique ID." Changing the unique ID of the other patient on its Patient Details page, then recovering again, restores the deleted patient.
The drawer groups the records into Entries, Images, Zones, Sessions, and Lesions, showing only the groups that hold a record. Each row names the record (an entry by its appointment date, an image by its file name, a zone by its designation, a session by its title, and a lesion by its label and site) and shows its deletion date and the time it has left. When nothing has been deleted, the drawer reads "No deleted items".

A record is restored only while its patient is active; a patient in Deleted Records is recovered first. A dissolved zone cannot be recovered while one of its images belongs to another zone, and Atlas reports "One or more of its images now belong to another zone."
