Installing Dermi Atlas Manager on Windows

Requirements

• Windows 10 or later, 64-bit, on an Intel or AMD (x64) processor. Windows on ARM computers are not supported.
• A Windows account with administrator rights.
• Docker Desktop, needed from the Requirements step of the Atlas installation onward. See Installing Docker for Dermi Atlas Professional.

The Windows installer is signed by Dermi Inc.

Installation Steps

1. Download the Windows installer from the Downloads page in Dermi Portal, as described in Installing Dermi Atlas Manager.
2. Double-click the downloaded .msi file.
3. On the User Account Control prompt, which names Dermi Inc. as the verified publisher, select Yes.
4. Follow the installer to the end.

Dermi Atlas Manager is then available from the Start menu.

Starting Atlas Manager as Administrator

Each time Atlas starts, Atlas Manager creates the Windows Firewall rules that let other devices on the practice network reach Atlas. Creating firewall rules needs administrator rights, which Atlas Manager does not request on its own. Start it as administrator for the Atlas installation:

1. In the Start menu, right-click Dermi Atlas Manager and select Run as administrator.
2. Select Yes on the User Account Control prompt.

The rules stay in place after that, and Atlas Manager can be opened normally for everyday use. Windows Firewall Configuration for Dermi Atlas Professional explains when to repeat this and how to check the rules.
