Dermi
Data Sovereignty

Complete control over
your patient data

Every patient photograph and clinical record resides exclusively on infrastructure you operate. No third-party services handle, process, or store your patient data during daily operation.

Local Storage Only

Data never leaves your infrastructure

Full Visibility

Know exactly where data resides

Your Policies Apply

You set access, retention, and deletion rules

No Vendor Lock-In

Export data in standard formats anytime

Risks of delegating patient data control

Third-party hosting, limited transparency, and proprietary lock-in reduce your authority over patient records

Third-party platforms hold your data

Cloud-hosted imaging tools store patient photographs on infrastructure outside your organizational boundary. Data handling practices are governed by the provider's policies, not yours.

Limited transparency into data handling

External providers may process, replicate, or store patient data across multiple regions. Visibility into exactly where data resides and how it is handled is often restricted.

Proprietary formats restrict data portability

Some platforms make it difficult to extract patient records in standard formats. Changing providers becomes expensive and time-consuming when data is locked into proprietary structures.

Common questions about data sovereignty

Data residency, portability, and access control in self-hosted deployments

During daily clinical workflows, no patient data is transmitted outside your local network. All image storage, processing, search, and comparison operations execute on your infrastructure. The only outbound connections are periodic license verification checks, which do not include patient data.

All patient data remains on your infrastructure regardless of subscription status. Records can be exported in standard formats at any time. Complete system backups can be created through Atlas Manager and remain accessible independently of the application license.

Individual images can be downloaded in their original format. Patient records, image pools, and clinical entries can be exported as formatted PDFs. Complete system backups provide full data portability with cross-platform compatibility for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Only user accounts created within your Atlas installation can access patient data. You control account creation, authentication requirements (including two-factor authentication), and session management. Atlas Manager provides oversight of the deployment without accessing clinical data directly.
