Installing SSL Certificates on Windows

Download the certificate from the SSL Certificate card in Dermi Atlas Manager first, as described in SSL Certificate Setup for HTTPS Access. The file is named dermi-atlas-professional.crt by default.

Installing the Certificate

1. Double-click dermi-atlas-professional.crt and select Install Certificate.
2. Select Local Machine and select Next. Approve the User Account Control prompt.
3. Choose Place all certificates in the following store, select Browse, and select Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
4. Select OK, Next, then Finish. Windows confirms the import.
5. Restart the browser.

Installing for the Local Machine makes every browser and account on the computer that uses the Windows certificate store trust Atlas. The certificate appears in the store as dermi-atlas.local, the Common Name shown on the SSL Certificate card.

Checking the Connection

Open the HTTPS address shown on the Atlas Access card, for example https://192.168.1.100:15045. The page loads without a certificate warning.

Removing a Previous Certificate

When Atlas has created a new certificate, remove the old one before or after installing the new one:

1. Run certlm.msc.
2. Open Trusted Root Certification Authorities => Certificates.
3. Find the dermi-atlas.local entries. The one whose expiration date differs from Valid Until on the SSL Certificate card is the old certificate.
4. Right-click it and select Delete.
