Installing SSL Certificates on Windows

This guide outlines the steps to install the SSL certificate generated by Dermi Atlas Manager on Windows operating systems. Adding the certificate to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities ensures secure HTTPS access to the instance.

The SSL certificate is downloaded from the SSL Certificate card on the Atlas Status page of Dermi Atlas Manager using the Download button. For the full setup context, see SSL Certificate Setup for HTTPS Access. The file downloads as dermi-atlas-professional.crt.

1. Locate the downloaded dermi-atlas-professional.crt certificate file.
2. Double-click the file and select Install Certificate.
3. Select Local Machine and click Next (approve the User Account Control admin prompt if requested).
4. Choose Place all certificates in the following store.
5. Click Browse and select Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Machine-level (Local Machine) trust in this store is required so that the secure WebSocket connections used by real-time features work; installing the certificate into a browser profile alone is not sufficient.
6. Click OK, Next, then Finish.
7. A success message confirming the import should appear.
8. Restart the web browser to ensure the changes take effect.

Verification

Navigate to the HTTPS URL of the Dermi Atlas Professional instance (e.g., https://192.168.1.100:15045). The browser should now load the page without security warnings and display a padlock icon.

Note: In the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store, the imported certificate appears as dermi-atlas.local (issued for Dermi Atlas Professional). If the deployment customized CERT_COMMON_NAME, it appears under that configured common name instead.

Important Notes

• The certificate must be installed on each device used to access the instance over HTTPS.
• The certificate is issued for a specific host IP, so the host should use a static IP address; a changing host IP breaks HTTPS and requires regenerating and reinstalling the certificate. See Configuring a Static IP Address for Dermi Atlas Professional.
