Configure your firewall to allow Dermi Atlas Professional connections. Learn about automatic firewall configuration and when manual setup is required.
Dermi Atlas Professional operates on the local network. For client devices (like iPads or laptops) to connect to the host computer, the host's firewall must allow incoming connections on specific ports.
Dermi Atlas Professional runs on a host computer. Client devices connect via standard web protocols (HTTP/HTTPS) over the LAN.
[Client Device] <---> [Local Network] <---> [Host Computer firewall] <---> [Dermi Atlas Professional]If the firewall blocks these connections, client devices will be unable to load the application.
Dermi Atlas Professional uses specific ports. Dermi Atlas Manager attempts to use default ports but will automatically select alternatives if conflicts occur.
Finding the Ports: Always check Dermi Atlas Manager => Atlas Status => Atlas Access to see the actual ports in use (e.g., if 15015 was busy, it might use 15016).
Automatic: On Windows, Dermi Atlas Manager adds the required inbound firewall rules automatically during installation and startup (administrator privileges are required; if the manager was not run with elevated permissions, the rules are not applied and manual configuration may be needed). On macOS and Linux, Dermi Atlas Manager does not modify the system firewall; if a firewall is active, the inbound ports must be allowed manually using the macOS or Linux guide below.
Manual: If connections from other devices fail, or if strict security software is in use, rules may need to be added manually.
