Overview
After deploying Dermi Atlas Professional, a local user account must be created to access the system.
Starting Account Creation
- Open a web browser on any device connected to the local network.
- Navigate to the Dermi Atlas Professional URL (displayed in Dermi Atlas Manager).
- On the sign-in page, click Sign up. The page that opens is titled Create Account.
- Enter the email address to be used.
- Click Continue.
Choosing a Verification Method
The account can be verified using Email (recommended) or Dermi Atlas Manager.
Method 1: Email Verification (Recommended)
This validates the email address and enables password resets and notifications.
- Check the email inbox for a confirmation message from Dermi Atlas Professional.
- Click the verification link in the email.
- The setup page opens.
- Enter the Username, First Name, and Password. The password must meet the strength requirements shown on the form: at least 12 characters, including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character.
- Click Create Account.
Benefits:
- Validated email address.
- Ability to receive password reset links.
- Email notifications for account activity.
Method 2: Dermi Atlas Manager Verification
Use this if email is unavailable or if account verifications are to be handled offline.
- Open Dermi Atlas Manager on the host computer.
- Click the Verifications icon (shield) in the top right corner to open the verifications drawer.
- Locate the pending verification for the email address.
- Click Open Link to launch the setup page (or use the copy icon to copy the URL elsewhere).
- Enter the Username, First Name, and Password. The password must meet the strength requirements shown on the form: at least 12 characters, including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character.
- Click Create Account.
Implications:
- Email remains unverified.
- No email notifications or password resets via email.
- All future verification links must be accessed via Dermi Atlas Manager.
Enabling Email Notifications Later
If verification was completed via Dermi Atlas Manager, the email can be verified later to enable full functionality:
- Sign in to Dermi Atlas Professional.
- Go to Options => Account.
- In the Security & Authentication section, on the Email Address card, click Request Change.
- Access the generated link via Dermi Atlas Manager using the Verifications icon (shield).
- Re-enter the current email address to trigger a confirmation message to the inbox.
- Click the link in the email to complete verification.
Troubleshooting
- Email not received: Check spam/junk folders. Ensure the host computer has internet access.
- Link expired: Links expire after one hour. Restart the creation process to generate a new link.
- Email already in use: An account may already exist. Try signing in or using password reset.
