How the first account on a Dermi Atlas Professional deployment is created. The owner invites the first member from the Dermi Portal and claims the invitation on the practice network.
Every account on a Dermi Atlas Professional deployment is created by claiming an invitation sent from the Dermi Portal, the first account included: once the license has been activated in Dermi Atlas Manager, the owner invites the first member from the license card in the portal, usually their own address, and that invitation is claimed on the practice network. The account that results is an ordinary team member account with its own username and password, separate from the Dermi Portal account that sent the invitation; the two kinds of account are compared in Understanding Accounts.
The Invite Member action on a license card becomes available once the license has been activated on the deployment and the deployment has checked in with the Dermi Portal. Until then the Members section reads "Members can be invited once this license has been activated on an Atlas instance and the instance has checked in." A deployment checks in on its own shortly after activation; Sync Now on the User Accounts card in the Administration area of Dermi Atlas Manager checks in immediately (see Atlas Manager Administration).

An email with the subject "Invitation to join a team on Dermi Atlas" is sent to the address with the claim code, which is valid for 24 hours and works once. The email does not carry the deployment's address on the practice network; the owner provides it. The rest of the owner's side, including resending a code and the two account types, is covered in Inviting and Managing Team Members.
The invitation is claimed on the deployment itself: the claim page exists only at the Dermi Atlas Professional address on the practice network.

The account exists on the deployment once the invitation has been accepted. The password is set on the deployment and never leaves it, and the email address is verified by the claim itself, so password recovery and security notifications can be delivered to it from the start. The full procedure, including the password requirements and what a refused or expired code means, is in Claiming a Team Invitation.
Sign in with the username and password chosen when the invitation was claimed.

Once the deployment has checked in, the license card in the Dermi Portal reflects the new account:
The same member appears on the User Accounts card in the Administration area of Dermi Atlas Manager, where the account can be disabled and re-enabled locally.
